A story of digital transformation CUSTOMER PROFILE VTR is a leading telecommunications services provider in Chile, part of the Liberty Latin America group. Today, VTR leads the television and Internet industry in the country, connecting more than 3.5 million households with high internet speeds and digital television. It is also the second-largest telecommunications company in the country. VTR reaches 1.462.700 buildings and customers in 45 cities in Chile. Similarly, VTR wanted to transform its IT architecture for this e-commerce site, to apply agile best practices, and to build scalability, as well as allowing it to add capacity on-demand and bringing true elastic compute to its applications and their related infrastructure. PREMIER LEAGUE PLEDGES $100K, DONATION DRIVE AT 50% OF TARGET MIAMI, FL – September 29, 2017 – Just one week after the launch of the Cable & Wireless Charitable Foundation to provide relief to Caribbean countries devastated by recent hurricanes, major local, regional and international partners are joining the call for support. One of the first to respond was the Premier League with a donation of US$100,000.
MIAMI, FL – September 27, 2017 – C&W Communications (C&W), a Liberty Global company, today announced the first two partner organizations – ShelterBox and Rotary International1 – of the newly formed Cable & Wireless Charitable Foundation to execute immediate relief and recovery activities in the countries affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
The crisis that is facing the region as a result of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, as well as the threat of other seasonal hurricanes, has made it necessary for us to rethink the way we respond to humanitarian emergencies. The sad fact is that today in the markets we serve, there are families, women and children living without shelter, food and water. They need our help and they need it now. I’ve heard from many of you over the past week and what has shone through, is the desire to help. Of course we’ve done a lot with the expertise we’re deploying, the supplies we’re airlifting into affected countries, and the support we’re providing to affected customers through, for example free calls, but there’s always more we can do.
