We’re pleased to share with you our parent company’s financial results for Latin America and the Caribbean (the LiLAC Group) during the 2016 period. The LiLAC Group reported $2.72 billion in revenue in the last year, for an annual growth rate of 1.2 percent. Of that total revenue, it’s important to highlight that Cable & Wireless Communications contributed $1.44 billion in 2016.
When we examine the performance of other entities in the LiLAC group, we see that the company’s Chilean operation (VTR) reported revenue of $859.5 million while that of Puerto Rico reported $420.8 million. Liberty gained a good deal of traction with these units, as they helped compensate for the declining demand for fixed and mobile phone lines in certain sectors.
Liberty Global is aware of the structural changes that each of the group’s entities has experienced, stating that in 2017 the focus will be on further improving results and working to benefit local operations.
